Welcome to The Bear Club
The Bear Club is an exclusive dining club set up to raise funds for Action Medical Research in particularly their “Touching Tiny Lives” campaign to raise an additional £3m for more research into prevention of premature birth and problems in pregnancy.
The club meets four times a year for lunch at the Peterborough Marriott Hotel, Lynch Wood, Peterborough, PE2 6GB to enjoy good food and interesting speakers, some well-known and others not! Occasionally there are special evening events.
Why the Bear Club? Paddington Bear is the charity mascot and Action Medical Research is the only charity to be granted that privilege by Michael Bond, creator of Paddington Bear and author of the Paddington Bear books. Michael’s daughter, Karen Jankel, is one of the Charity’s Trustees and has kindly agreed to be the Club’s Patron. You can see Karen pictured above with Shirley Clarkson (yes - Jeremy's "mum") who made the FIRST Paddington Bears.
The membership year runs from October to September and the fee is ONLY £20 per year for which you will receive a membership pack. Also, by becoming a member, you will be actively helping to “Touch a life”!
Members register from 12.00 noon and lunch starts promptly at 12.30pm. Our guest speaker commences at approximately 1.30pm and members have the opportunity to converse with the speaker afterwards until around 3.30pm.

Diane will be speaking about her work with the Yorkshire Police on "THE YORKSHIRE RIPPER" and eventually with Peter Sutcliffe himself! Peter Sutcliffe is due for release next year!
